Ilana Zahava Abusch is a playwright from White Plains, NY, fresh off her time at Northwestern University. Her play Without Wings was workshopped at PCP’s PLAYground Festival in March 2021 (dir. Mary Poole), was produced at White Plains High School in February 2022 (dir. Seren Cepler), and was the inaugural production for Philly Children's Theatre in July 2022 (dir. Sarah Gordin). In Wonderland, her theatrical adaptation, was commissioned and produced by The Play Group Theatre (dir. Aiden Dreskin, music and lyrics by James Powers). Her newest play, The Attendant, which centers the Jewish community she loves, was workshopped in March 2022 (dir. Alexa Goldstein). Additional scripts include Maverick, a political superhero drama, and ten-minute plays The Road from al Dora and Fanny. She served as Literary Manager and Executive Director of Lovers & Madmen, which produces classics, and as Artistic Director of Seesaw Theatre, which creates sensory-based theatre for autistic audiences. She is the current Outreach Coordinator and Summer Teen Conservatory Director (and Director of Fun) at The Play Group Theatre.
