Ilana Zahava Abusch is a Northwestern University trained theatre artist, dedicated to arts education and accessibility. She is the current Outreach Coordinator and Summer Teen Conservatory Director at The Play Group Theatre, a non-profit children’s theatre in New York, where she also directed Honk! and The Prom as part of the 2022-2023 MainStage Season. She served as both Artistic Director and Winter Event Director of Seesaw Theatre, a student theatre board which produces sensory-based theatre experiences for autistic and otherwise disabled children. In addition to her work with children, Ilana is devoted to directing classical theatre. She served as Literary Manager and Executive Director of Lovers & Madmen, a student theatre board which produces classic and classically-inspired theatre. As a Special Event for L&M, she directed an outdoor, roaming version of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night on Northwestern’s beautiful campus.
